GENERAL INFORMATION
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a surgical procedure intended for the elimination of fat accumulations and stretch marks especially in the abdominal area of the body, which are caused by weight gains and losses or pregnancy. In this procedure, the aim is to eliminate the fat accumulation and the resultant stretch marks (if any).
Sometimes excess skin and fat tissues may remain in the abdominal region after weight gains and losses or pregnancy, which cannot be eliminated, no matter what the patient does. Loosening of the abdominal muscles as well as their loss of strength increases sagging and weight gain. Although a strict post-pregnancy fitness program is mostly helpful, the recovering of the body and the abdominal muscles may take a long time due to the inability to allocate time because of baby-care, busyness and fatigue. Stretch marks that develop at that stage are also annoying. Such cases are the reasons for having abdominoplasty.
