Dr. Atakan graduated from Ankara University Medical Faculty in 1986, and then became a Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist in 1994. After that he worked for government at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital till 2000.
Dr. Atakan established Europlast Aesthetics Center in 1997, and still serves there as director Plastic Surgeon and Owner. Dr. Atakan completed his further training at the following highly reputable international hospitals:

Dr. Atakan’s specialism is primarily on facial reconstruction, rhinoplasty, breast surgeries and abdominoplasty. Each year he holds a number of workshops in Turkey and around the world, demonstrating his own specially developed techniques for other doctors.
Dr. Zafer Atakan is one of the most frequent practitioners of Vaser and Laser Lipoplasty, which are the latest trends in body shaping in the world. He is widely known for his high defined six pack lipoplasty operations on patients.
He uses state of the art methods for buttock shaping, such as prosthesis, fat grafts and aquafilling.
He is also the pioneer for hair implants in Turkey, bringing hundreds of patients a year for hair implants. His method involves organic hair plantation, rich from stem cell – a megasession hair implant. He has previously held demonstrations and workshops for young doctors around the world.
He is widely known for his own technique for ‘Face lift without Surgery – Spring Thread method’ and because of this he is one of the only training doctors for Spring Thread worldwide. He previously held training sessions for his Plastic Surgeon colleagues from China, including the head of Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery Board of China. Dr Atakan is further invited to Korea in April and to China again May teaching to demonstrate his technique to more colleagues worldwide. For the last four years, starting from 2015, he held workshops and advanced plastic surgery training sessions for his colleagues in China. This year in 2020, he further advances the Europlast Academy and he will be the director of ISEF 2020 Congress, which will be the joint Aesthetic Conference of Turkish and Chinese medical doctors.
One can see that in addition to his day-to-day surgeries and consultation roles, Dr Atakan is also a teaching doctor since 2000. He is currently the teaching doctor for the following companies;
